As SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Animal Ambassador, Julie Scardina shares her life-long love of animals and the parks commitment to wildlife conservation with audiences ranging from a classroom of children to millions of viewers via national television. Julie Scardina is an engaging expert with more than 20 years experience in animal training and care. She has trained and performed with the 8,000 pound killer whale Shamu, sea lions, otters and walruses. She also has worked with elephants, kangaroos and birds of prey. Whether demonstrating the natural and trained behaviors of exotic animals,
discussing breeding and conservation programs at Busch Gardens and SeaWorld,
explaining the parks positive animal training methods or describing
SeaWorlds beached animal rescue and rehabilitation program, Julie
is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker or guest. Julie is as comfortable in front of a group or on camera as she is interacting with some of the worlds most fascinating creatures. Her education and experience coupled with her contagious enthusiasm, make her a tremendous female role model in the world of science. Julies most recent national broadcast appearances include, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Rosie ODonnel Show, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, NBCs Today, and Good Day New York. She is also a weekly contributor to Jack Hannas Animal Adventures. In addition to her role as Animal Ambassador, Julie also is curator of animal training for SeaWorld of California. Julie holds a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in biology from San Diego State University. She earned an associates degree in exotic animal training and management from Moorpark College in California. She is a member of the International Marine Animal Trainers Association, American Zoo and Aquarium Association, International Association of Avian Trainers & Educators and many conservation organizations. | |||||
