A Commerson's dolphin can live to be at least 18 years. Some Commerson's at SeaWorld are more than 20 years old.

PREDATORS
1.

Natural predators may include killer whales, sharks, and leopard seals because they live in the same areas as Commerson's dolphins. However, there are no documented observations of predation.

1.

Commerson's dolphins and other dolphins may develop stomach ulcers, skin diseases, tumors, heart disease, and respiratory disorders.

Commerson's dolphins may suffer from viral, bacterial, and fungal infections.

PARASITES

1.

Parasites - including roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes - may affect a Commerson's dolphin's health. In most cases, parasite infestations alone are unlikely to debilitate otherwise healthy animals, but they may harm animals that are already weakened by other illnesses or injuries.
