Discover the incredible animals of Africa…in the middle of Florida!  Campers learn about over 2,000 amazing animals that call this renowned zoological facility home. Visit our state-of-the-art zoo hospital and travel behind the scenes to encounter exotic and endangered species such as lemurs and black rhinos on habitat. At day's end, there's still time to enjoy the amazing rides, shows and attractions of Busch Gardens and Adventure Island, our tropical-themed water park (open mid-March through October).

Teachers- SeaWorld/ Busch Gardens Adventure Camps support the National Science Education Standards and the Florida Sunshine State Standards.

Minimum group size is 15 paid participants, one adult chaperone complimentary per 10 paid students. A $100 nonrefundable deposit per participant is required for registration. Lodging is provided at Busch Gardens' on-property dormitory, Mzinga Lodge. Participant price includes all meals and snacks, an Adventure Camp T-shirt and water bottle.

ZOO JOURNEYS
Grades 4-5
Grades 6-8
Grades 9-12
Take a journey into the fascinating world of animals and their habitats. Every day at this camp presents new opportunities to investigate the mysteries of the animal world from some of the smallest to the very largest creatures. Make the acquaintance of two-legged and four-legged species, from rainbow-colored lorikeets to towering giraffes and a baby gorilla. Grade appropriate curriculum is available for grades 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12.


EXPECTATIONS

• Visit giant tortoises and offer nectar to lorikeets
• Explore Edge of Africa through an interactive scavenger hunt
• Hand-feed giraffes on a safari across the Serengeti Plain
• Encounter reptilian rarities such as Komodo dragons, crocodiles and a giant python

Animal Adventures
Grades 6-8
Looking for new opportunities to investigate the mysteries of the animal kingdom? Exploration invites discovery and this camp offers it all, from getting closer than you've ever been to animals to making unforgettable memories along the way. Uncover the inner workings of a premier zoo and meet the professionals that keep it running smoothly.

EXPECTATIONS

• Truck across the Serengeti Plain to meet giraffes and antelopes
• Create animal treats in the Zoo Kitchen
• Meet a flamingo face-to-face at the Nairobi Field Station
• Encounter hippos, lions, hyenas and more

Animal Adventures
Grades 9-12
You can't get closer to animals than this! Discover firsthand what it takes to care for animals and then put your newfound knowledge to work. Become an amateur zookeeper, assisting zoo professionals to perform daily husbandry for species from around the world. Campers go behind the scenes to prepare habitats, distribute diets, observe animal care sessions, and engage in career discussions with zoo staff.

EXPECTATIONS

• Discover the inside layout of a world-class zoological facility
• Work alongside zookeepers to care for hippos, zebras and more
• Learn about animal husbandry, behavior and nutrition
• Clean and prepare animal habitats, make animal diets and fill out animal charts
